Greece: Winter schedule for dual-zone electricity pricing begins

The Hellenic Electricity Distribution Network Operator (HEDNO) has announced the commencement of the winter schedule for dual-zone electricity billing, effective November 1, 2026. This schedule provides consumers with six hours of reduced charging daily across two specific time slots.

The winter period includes a midday zone from 12:00 to 15:00 and a nighttime zone from 02:00 to 05:00. These hours apply every day of the week for consumers enrolled in the dual-zone system, which replaced the previous night-time electricity model in February 2025. This period is scheduled to conclude on March 31, 2027.

Consumers can benefit from lower rates by shifting high-energy usage, such as operating dishwashers or washing machines, to these designated windows. The exact financial benefit varies depending on the individual supplier and the specific terms of the consumer's contract.
