Greece's Ministry of Culture opens 126 sites for August full‑moon celebrations

The Greek Ministry of Culture is organising a nationwide cultural programme for the August full moon on 28 August 2026. Free admission will be offered at 126 archaeological sites, museums and monuments across the country, with 61 venues hosting special performances and the remaining 65 remaining open for general public visits. The events run from 26 to 30 August and include concerts, theatrical and dance shows, exhibitions and guided tours.

The programme is coordinated by the General Directorate of Antiquities and Cultural Heritage in partnership with regional and local authorities and other cultural bodies, marking the 27th consecutive year of the August Full‑Moon festival that transforms historic locations into nighttime cultural venues.
