Greek AADE mandates electronic invoicing for all businesses from Oct 1 2026
The Independent Authority for Public Revenue (AADE) will require all businesses operating in Greece to issue invoices exclusively in digital form starting 1 October 2026. The measure covers firms with annual turnover up to €1 million and applies to all domestic B2B transactions, as well as sales to companies outside the EU. For trades with EU‑member states the use of electronic invoices remains optional.
Businesses must select a transmission channel – either a certified electronic‑invoice provider or the free AADE platforms “timologio” and “myDATAapp”. After issuance, invoices are automatically sent to the myDATA system where they receive a unique MARC registration number that validates their legality. A three‑month transition period runs until 31 December 2026. Companies that voluntarily adopt e‑invoicing before the mandatory date can benefit from tax incentives and accelerated depreciation of related expenses.
The rollout completes AADE’s digital transformation agenda, aimed at reducing illegal transactions and improving tax transparency across the Greek economy.
