Greek Actor Tasos Chalkias Loses Home in Porto Germeno Wildfire

A massive wildfire in the Porto Germeno area of Greece has razed roughly 200 homes, turning large tracts of forest and farmland into ash. Among the destroyed properties was the private residence of well‑known Greek actor Tasos Chalkias.

Chalkias, speaking to SKAI and journalist Popi Papadopoulou, described the loss as deeply personal, saying he had “shed his own blood” to build the house and that its destruction felt like his own blood being spilled. He emphasized that his home was not merely a material asset but the result of years of hard work and personal sacrifice, and he called for the other victims to be heard as well.
