Greek actor Vasilis Charalambopoulos mourns his late father

Actor Vasilis Charalambopoulos appeared on the TV programme “Studio 4” in early June, where he spoke publicly about the recent death of his father. The senior Charalambopoulos died on 16 May after an accident, prompting the actor to share a video tribute that attracted more than one million supportive messages on social media.

During the interview Charalambopoulos described his father as a kind, humorous man who wrote poetry and was beloved by many. He explained his need to tell the world about the "wonderful father" he had, acknowledging his own emotional vulnerability and the feeling of being “defenseless” when a loved one passes away. He reflected on the grieving process, saying he feels the absence more than the loss itself and that the outpouring of public sympathy has been overwhelming.
