Greek Agriculture Exports Reach €2.1 B Record, Led by Feta and Olive Oil

In 2025 Greece logged a record €2.1 billion in agricultural exports, driven largely by feta cheese and olive oil. Feta shipments topped 105,000 tons, generating €835 million, while olive oil sales exceeded €1.3 billion, accounting for about 12.4% of the country’s total food exports. The surge reflects strict PDO quality standards, diversified market strategies, premium packaging, and new partnerships that have expanded demand in Europe, North America and Asia.

Meanwhile, the UK’s agricultural sector is focusing on the Japanese market. In 2025 the UK exported £9.8 million of beef, £5.28 million of pork and £0.3 million of lamb to Japan. The Agriculture and Horticulture Development Board hosted a webinar with Defra and the Food Standards Agency to update exporters on Japan’s current import requirements, including Export Health Certificate procedures, BSE negligible‑risk status and audit guidelines, aiming to preserve and grow access to this high‑value market.
