Greek art exhibitions explore maritime themes and memory
Several art exhibitions centered on the theme of the sea are taking place in Greece. At the Archaeological Museum of Nikopolis in Preveza, the exhibition ‘Sea Memory: Characterful Soundscapes’ is running until August 31, 2026. This multi-sensory installation features works from 25 modern Greek artists, creating a dialogue between contemporary art and archaeological artifacts through visual works and soundscapes.
In Skala Politouchnitou, photographer Giorgos Arapoglou is presenting his third solo photography exhibition, titled ‘Para Thin’ Alos’. Running from August 14 to August 16, 2026, the exhibition focuses on the sea of Lesvos, capturing the island's light, landscapes, and the enduring relationship between the region and the Aegean Sea.
