Greek authorities investigate minors for forest fire challenge

Authorities in Greece are investigating an incident involving three minors who allegedly engaged in a dangerous social media "challenge" by setting fire to a pine forest in the Vrilissia area, near Penteli Avenue.

A video captured by a passing driver shows the teenagers starting a fire in the dense vegetation and subsequently attempting to extinguish it. The incident occurred during a period when Attica was under a high fire risk rating of category 4.

The Fire Service's Fire Arson Crimes Directorate has taken over the case to identify the individuals involved and their parents. Local civil protection services were also notified, and fire department forces were deployed to the scene to manage the risk.
