Greek authorities investigate ‘No Police’ drink linked to Bulgarian company

Greek authorities are investigating a beverage marketed on social media as a way to influence the results of police breathalyzer tests. The product, sold under the name ‘No Police’, is advertised with slogans suggesting it can help users avoid detection after consuming alcohol.

Following a report, Greek police identified a 59-year-old Greek citizen who administered the website used to sell the product. Investigations revealed that the company selling the drink in Greece is a subsidiary of a parent company based in Bulgaria, which operates in the healthy lifestyle products sector.

During an inspection by the Greek food control authority, EFET, 99 packages of the drink were seized. Laboratory analysis showed the beverage contains caffeine and vitamin concentrations up to six times higher than similar approved enriched soft drinks. The seized items lacked Greek language labeling. The case has been referred to the prosecutor to determine the legitimacy of the product's claims and the legality of its advertising.
