Greek banks visit renovated Thessaloniki school

Representatives from the Hellenic Bank Association and major Greek banks visited the 4th Charilaou Junior High School in Thessaloniki to inspect renovations completed through the ‘Marietta Giannakou Program’. The visit included the Ministers of Education and Infrastructure, alongside executives from Alpha Bank, Eurobank, National Bank of Greece, and Piraeus Bank.

As part of a second donation cycle totaling 100 million euros, 240 schools across Greece were renovated this summer, with over 40 located in the regions of Central Macedonia, Western Macedonia, and Eastern Macedonia and Thrace. This follows a previous 100 million euro cycle that renovated 430 schools last year. The four participating banks have committed to providing similar contributions over the next two years, subject to implementation conditions.
