Greek Beaches Laffoni, Falasarna, and Balos Rank Among World's Top 25

The Global Beach Index 2026 compiled by Beach.com placed three Greek beaches among the world’s 25 best: Laffoni (Crete) at #2, Falasarna (Crete) at #14 and Balos (Crete) at #21. The ranking combined scientific data with expert tourism assessments, evaluating 18 indicators weighted by expert opinion (30%), water quality (26%), popularity (27%), visitor feedback (14%), accessibility (2%) and climate (1%). Laffoni was praised for its crystal‑blue waters, high visitor ratings (over 32,000 Google reviews) and an optimal visiting window in May‑June.

In a separate international survey, the 50 Best Beaches list highlighted additional Greek sites for their seclusion and natural beauty. The Ionian beaches Fteri (Kefalonia) and Voutoumi (Antipaxos) earned spots on the list, noted for their white‑rock surroundings, turquoise waters and limited access that preserve their pristine character. Together, these rankings underscore Greece’s strong presence in global beach rankings and its appeal to discerning travelers.
