Greek boat accidents leave Italian tourist injured and a man dead in Alimos

A 54‑year‑old Italian tourist was seriously injured on the island of Skíathos after a passing boat struck her while she was swimming. She suffered spinal fractures, facial injuries and a brain hemorrhage and was transferred to the General Hospital of Volos for treatment. The boat’s captain was arrested and released pending investigation.

Separately, a man was found dead inside a boat moored at the Alimos marina near Athens. Emergency responders confirmed his death and his body was taken to the Asclepius General Hospital in Volos for autopsy. The incident is being investigated by the first maritime unit of the Faliro Coast Guard, with a forensic examination ordered to determine the cause of death.
