The Greek Cabinet, led by Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis, met to address several key national priorities, including the finalization of the 'Greece 2.0' National Recovery and Resilience Plan and preparations for the new school year.

Regarding education, Minister Sofia Zacharaki reported on the readiness of 13,842 schools for the upcoming academic year. Key measures include 5,259 permanent teacher appointments and a goal to have approximately 30,000 substitute teachers in place by September 8. The Ministry is also introducing 'EduPlan. AI', a digital system designed to improve school staffing accuracy by analyzing organic positions, demographic changes, and regional needs. Additionally, support measures for teachers working far from home, such as rent assistance and housing initiatives, were discussed.

On the economic front, Ministers Akis Skertsos and Nikos Papathanasis presented the progress of the 'Greece 2.0' program. To date, EU disbursements amount to 24.6 billion euros, with 253 milestones achieved. The government aims to fully absorb the 36 billion euro national fund by the end of the year. The program is noted for its role in driving digital transformation and the green energy transition.
