PASOK and Greek Solution clash over polling rivalry

Political tensions are escalating between PASOK and Greek Solution (ELAS) as they compete for second place in recent opinion polls. The rivalry has intensified following sharp rhetoric, including an article by Thanasis Karteros that questioned PASOK leader Nikos Androulakis, prompting a fierce response from PASOK characterizing the attacks as toxic and organized.

Government officials have noted that this intense competition within the center-left may benefit the ruling New Democracy party. They suggest that the focus on internal opposition rivalry distracts from New Democracy’s significant lead and may increase voter disillusionment with the opposition's credibility.

Amidst this friction, discussions have emerged regarding potential cooperation between PASOK and Greek Solution in nine single-member constituencies. Proponents of such an agreement, including former PASOK MP Charis Tsiokas, suggest that strategic coordination in these specific regions could create a different electoral dynamic, drawing parallels to political agreements made in 1990.
