Greek center-left parties initiate strategic preparations for 2027 elections
Progressive opposition parties in Greece, including PASOK, SYRIZA, ELEFTHERI ELLADA (EL.A.S), and Nea Aristera, have launched a series of conferences and internal processes aimed at preparing for the 2027 national elections.
PASOK has begun mobilizing its organizational mechanisms, highlighted by a large-scale event at Aigaleo commemorating the 45th anniversary of the 1981 'Change'. The party is currently focusing on regional outreach through leadership visits to strengthen its base as it competes for second place in the political landscape.
Meanwhile, Stefanos Kasselakis is seeking to revitalize the 'Democrats' through the European Democratic Party (EDP) congress. Scheduled for October 23-24, 2026, in Athens, the congress, titled ‘The Final Countdown’, is viewed as a strategic step toward the upcoming electoral cycle.
