Marfin Bank attack: 46-year-old woman returns to Greece

A 46-year-old woman has returned to Greece from the United Kingdom following an Interpol red notice to face charges related to the 2010 Marfin Bank attack, which resulted in the deaths of three employees.

Police claim modern forensic analysis and artificial intelligence have identified her as a person providing support to the attackers during the arson. However, her lawyer, Kostas Papadakis, strongly disputes these findings. He argues that the forensic results do not constitute a definitive identification but are merely a "limited simulation" on the scientific scale used by the Directorate of Criminal Investigations.

The defense further claims that the woman was previously investigated for the same incident in 2022 using identical photographic evidence, at which time the case was closed by a prosecutor. The woman, who has lived in Brighton for the last six years, denies any involvement and is scheduled to appear before an investigating magistrate to provide a statement.
