Greek cultural festivals announced for Canberra and Gold Coast

Greek cultural celebrations are scheduled to take place across Australia in late 2026 and late October.

In Canberra, Hellenic Week will run from October 26 to November 1 at the Hellenic Club Canberra, Palace Electric Cinema, and Deakin Stadium. The program includes traditional music, film, and sport, highlighted by a visit from the Evzones, the Hellenic Presidential Guard, on October 28. The week also features cooking classes, art showcases, and a football match between South Melbourne Hellas FC and Canberra Croatia.

On the Gold Coast, the Gold Coast Greek Festival is set for October 31 and November 1, 2026, at HOTA, Home of the Arts. Conceived by George Mastrocostas, the two-day event expects approximately 10,000 attendees. The festival will feature traditional food, music, and dance, alongside The Evzones Collection by photographer Nick Bourdaniotis, which will display approximately 26 large-format prints of the Hellenic Presidential Guard.
