Greek dairy exports projected to reach 2 billion euros in 2026
Greek dairy and cheese industries are experiencing unprecedented growth, with total export revenues projected to reach approximately 2 billion euros in 2026. This surge is driven primarily by the international success of feta cheese and Greek yogurt.
According to data from the Panhellenic Association of Exporters, yogurt exports saw a significant increase of 37.9% in the first half of the year, reaching 362 million euros compared to 262.3 million euros in the same period last year. Notably, the Netherlands has emerged as the third-largest market for Greek yogurt.
Cheese exports are also performing strongly, with expected turnover approaching 1.2 billion euros. While feta remains a primary driver, it now accounts for roughly 50% of cheese exports, with the remaining half consisting of various other dairy products. In the first half of 2026, cheese export value rose by 9.3% to 589 million euros, up from 538.4 million euros in 2025.
