Greek Deputy Minister Dimitris Markopoulos visits Kozani to accelerate Western Macedonia’s economic growth
Deputy Minister of National Economy and Finance Dimitris Markopoulos travelled to Kozani in Western Macedonia, meeting regional governor George Amanatidis, local MPs and business leaders. The talks focused on tax measures, financing tools and support for enterprises, with the government aiming to turn the region into a major economic pillar by 2030, attract new investment and cut unemployment.
Markopoulos also visited the Kozani Chamber of Commerce, speaking with the presidents of the four chambers of Western Macedonia. He stressed that the area’s specific challenges will shape upcoming economic policy, especially the programme for the Thessaloniki International Fair, and pledged that proposals from local producers and chambers will be taken seriously and incorporated into national policy.
