Greek Development Minister Takis Theodorikakos Secures ELIDEK Funding in 2026‑30 Plan

Minister of Development Takis Theodorikakos announced that the Greek Foundation for Research and Innovation (ELIDEK) will receive dedicated funding under the Ministry’s sectoral development programme for the 2026‑2030 period. The decision was made following a meeting with ELIDEK’s board president Dimitris Vergados, scientific council president Georgia Andreou, director George Karidakis and General Secretary of Research and Innovation Dimitris Terzis.

The funding aims to strengthen research and innovation by creating a digital national repository for research outputs, establishing flagship centres of excellence, and fostering collaborations between universities, research institutes and industry. The government highlighted the expected impact on productivity, competitiveness, social cohesion and Greece’s position in international markets.
