Greek Digital Land Registry Overhauls Property Transactions

The Greek Land Registry has completed cadastral mapping for 99% of the country and is moving to a fully digital system. The new platform introduces electronic spatial changes—such as boundary corrections, splits and merges—submitted online by owners and their engineers. A single‑sign‑on portal will replace three separate interfaces, integrating the National Land Registry information system, GIS and legal‑check applications.

Certified engineers will oversee geometric modifications, and the unified geospatial database will keep a complete history of each change. By digitising these processes, the reform aims to cut waiting times, reduce paperwork and lower financing costs for real‑estate transactions, benefitting citizens, professionals and investors.

The rollout will be phased to avoid service interruptions while performance dashboards monitor office workloads in real time.
