Greek driver arrested for stealing €75,000 Hermès bag and Rolex watch in Mykonos

A Greek driver, aged 34‑35, was arrested on Mykonos after allegedly taking a Hermès handbag and a Rolex Day‑Date watch worth a total of €75,000 from a 29‑year‑old Ukrainian tourist. The tourist had handed over the items as a guarantee for payment of the transport service. While the driver was waiting for the tourist to alight, he accelerated away, leaving the passenger behind and keeping the valuables. Police located the driver later the same day in the Agios Stefanos area, detained him, and recovered the bag and watch hidden under rocks near the Holy Temple of Agios Patapios. The case was processed by the Mykonos police sub‑directorate and the suspect was transferred to the Syros prosecutor’s office.
