Lake Plastira tanker driver identified after near-collision with motorcyclist

Authorities have identified the driver of a tanker truck involved in a dangerous overtaking maneuver near Lake Plastira. The incident, which was captured on a helmet camera by a motorcyclist, shows the heavy vehicle entering the opposite lane at a blind curve, nearly causing a head-on collision. The motorcyclist managed to avoid the crash through a last-minute maneuver.

Following the viral video, the Attica Traffic Police launched an investigation and identified the driver through his employer, a transport company. The driver was located in Chalkidiki and has been brought to the Thessaloniki Traffic Police to face charges for dangerous driving under Article 290A of the Penal Code, alongside various traffic violations.

In a separate incident during recent traffic enforcement operations in Attica, a driver was caught with a record-breaking blood alcohol level of 2.78 mg/l. The individual was fined 1,200 euros, had their license suspended for six months, and faces further judicial proceedings.
