Greek Education Minister Sofia Zaharaki tours Lavreotiki schools and meets regional education supervisors

Education Minister Sofia Zaharaki visited the municipality of Lavreotiki, where Mayor Dimitris Loukas welcomed her to inspect two local schools that have entered the national School Building Renovation programme – the Keratea Gymnasium‑High School and the 2nd Primary School of Lavrio. The officials noted that the municipality succeeded in securing funding to upgrade classrooms and facilities.

Later, on 14 July 2026, Zaharaki held her first official meeting with the Regional Education Supervisors of Central Greece. The gathering, attended by senior education officials, focused on a range of issues affecting primary, secondary and special‑education institutions, and produced concrete commitments to improve the quality of education and strengthen cooperation with school counselors and supervisors.
