Greek EFET recalls apple‑cinnamon biscuits and cinnamon rolls for safety breaches

The Greek Food Control Authority (EFET) has issued recalls for two food products over safety concerns.

The first recall involves the "Strudito SOFT BISCUIT" apple‑cinnamon biscuits (126 g, expiry 30/07/26) imported from Serbia and distributed in Greece by BG SHAPE Ltd. Laboratory analysis detected kumarin at levels exceeding the legal limit, leading EFET to label the batch as non‑conforming and unsafe and to advise consumers not to consume it.

The second recall concerns traditional cinnamon pastries («Κανέλας ΠΑΡΑΔΟΣΙΑΚΑ ΠΑΞΙΜΑΔΙΑ», 450 g) produced by Karagianakis bakery in Lesbos. EFET’s North Aegean regional office found that the product’s label failed to clearly highlight wheat as an allergen, breaching Greek allergen‑labeling regulations. The pastries were deemed non‑conforming and unsafe for individuals with wheat/gluten intolerance, prompting an order for immediate removal from shelves and a consumer warning.
