Greek electricity tariffs: yellow plans cheaper, blue plans more expensive in 2026
Data from the Regulatory Authority for Energy (RAAEY) show that for a typical household consumption of 300 kWh per month the average price of the variable “yellow” tariffs fell to €49.99 in the January‑July 2026 period, making them the cheapest option. The fixed “blue” tariffs rose sharply to €55.86, while the special “green” tariffs stayed around €56.00.
In 2025 the situation was opposite: the blue tariffs were the cheapest at €46.62, the yellow tariffs €51.69 and the green tariffs €55.84. The price shift has driven a rapid change in consumer choices – the share of customers on blue contracts grew from 13.27 % in December 2024 to 27.83 % in December 2025 and reached about 31.5 % by April 2026, while the yellow‑tariff share remained roughly 14 %.
The trends indicate that lower prices now come with greater price volatility for consumers, whereas the stability of fixed contracts carries a higher monthly cost. The data are based on the new RAAEY monitoring tool covering the retail electricity market.
