Greek Exam 2026: Two EPAL Students Receive Perfect Scores after Paper Mix‑up

During the 2026 Panhellenic examinations in Greece, two candidates from a Vocational Lyceum (EPAL) were mistakenly given the Greek General Lyceum (GEL) language and literature test papers, which had been used the previous day. The Ministry of Education ordered a sworn administrative examination (Ε.Δ.Ε.) to investigate the incident and assign responsibility.

The National Organization of Examinations (Ε.Ο.Ε.) stated that there was no breach of the exams’ integrity and that the error was an isolated administrative fault. To remedy the situation, the two students were awarded the maximum possible grades as an exceptional measure, and the Central Examination Committee confirmed the decision. The agency emphasized that the exams remain secure and the rights of all candidates are protected.
