Greek firm Altus-LSA partners with US Shield AI on drone integration

Greek defence company Altus‑LSA and US defence‑technology firm Shield AI have signed a strategic agreement to integrate Altus‑LSA’s KMB Hunter interceptor drone and its M3NTOR command‑and‑control system with Shield AI’s V‑BAT unmanned aerial system and Hivemind autonomy software. The partnership aims to broaden both firms’ presence in international defence markets and to supply cost‑effective, operationally efficient solutions to the Greek armed forces and overseas customers.

Altus‑LSA Chief Executive Zacharias Sarris said the collaboration is a key step in expanding the company’s unmanned aerial capabilities, highlighting the KMB Hunter’s low acquisition cost and ability to conduct air‑to‑air and air‑to‑ground strike missions. Shield AI’s regional director for Eastern and Southeast Europe, James Lythgoe, described the joint system as a “game changer” that will enable drones to not only surveil but also engage and neutralise threats on the battlefield.
