Greek Ministry Launches Ergani App for Fast‑Track Short‑Term Hiring
The Ministry of Labour and Social Security of Greece has launched the Ergani app, a mobile platform that lets employers announce and conclude short‑term contracts of up to two days in a few minutes. The service, foreseen by law 5239/2025, digitises the three traditional filings (start‑of‑employment notice, digital working‑time record and termination notice) into a single electronic declaration that is automatically synchronised with the ERGANI II information system.
Employers enter the job details – occupation, days, hours, wage and insurance – via the Ergani app. The worker receives an instant notification through the upgraded myErgani app, can review the contract terms and accept them digitally. Once accepted, the employer finalises the submission and the central system updates the employment record without any further paperwork. The Ministry says the tool will reduce bureaucracy, speed up recruitment and increase transparency and protection for workers.
The application is free, available in the App Store and Google Play, and is aimed primarily at sectors with highly variable staffing needs such as tourism, hospitality, catering, retail, event organisation and seasonal agriculture.
