Alexis Tsipras unveils 'Aristotelis' plan to split municipalities and boost local autonomy in Greece
Greek opposition leader Alexis Tsipras presented the "Aristotelis" plan, a proposal to overhaul the country's local‑government structure. The plan seeks to reverse parts of the 2010 Kallikratis reform by splitting merged municipalities and restoring autonomy to more than a hundred former communes, with estimates of creating 100‑150 new municipalities.
