Greek Health Minister Adonis Georgiadis Announces Rhodes Hospital Upgrades and Defends Use of Meta Smart Glasses

Health Minister Adonis Georgiadis said he will keep using Meta’s smart glasses in hospitals, despite privacy concerns, stating that he will record image and sound during visits to document events. In the same interview he commented on political figures, describing former left‑wing leader Alekos Tsipras as “talented and cold‑blooded” and defended Domna Michailidou’s remarks on the traditional Greek family.

Georgiadis also announced a multi‑million‑euro programme for the General Hospital of Rhodes in the Dodecanese. The plan includes a new radiotherapy centre, extensive staff recruitment, energy‑efficiency upgrades and the completion of projects funded by the national recovery fund. The upgrades aim to reduce patient travel to Athens for radiotherapy and improve overall health services on the islands.
