Greek Health Minister Adonis Georgiadis slams SYRIZA over revived Novartis case and warns of 2027 election

Health Minister Adonis Georgiadis used a televised press conference to accuse the opposition SYRIZA party of re‑opening the Novartis scandal, calling the party "poor people" and demanding an apology. He said SYRIZA was “re‑heating” a case that had already been cleared in the courts, including his own investigation and that of former minister Dimitris Avramopoulos.

Georgiadis also responded to accusations from independent MP Marou Salmas, stating that Salmas was repeating old attacks and that his parliamentary immunity was being lifted. He warned that if the political turmoil continued, the next national elections would likely be held in 2027 and cautioned against a scenario of “acocracy” that could threaten governance. The minister disclosed that he had asked former Novartis head Konstantinos Frouzis to review a €2,000 advertisement placed on an informational website, noting that the matter is already part of the Novartis file.
