Greek Hotel Federation requests data on short-term rental inspections
The Panhellenic Federation of Hoteliers (POX) has formally requested detailed information from the Greek Ministry of Tourism regarding inspections of short-term rental properties. In a letter addressed to the General Secretary of Tourism Policy and Development, Vasiliki Koutsoukou, and copied to Tourism Minister Olga Kefalogianni, the federation is seeking an assessment of the regulatory framework that went into effect on October 1, 2025.
POX is requesting specific data from October 1, 2025, to the present, including the total number of on-site inspections conducted by the Ministry of Tourism and the Independent Authority for Public Revenue (AADE), the number of violations identified, and the total amount of administrative fines imposed and collected. The federation also requested the percentage of inspected properties relative to active Property Registry Numbers (AMA) and the inspection schedule for 2027.
The federation stated that while the new regulations are a step toward protecting visitors and ensuring the quality of the Greek tourism product, the effectiveness of the framework depends on its actual implementation in the field.
