Greek leaders call for stronger public education as school year begins

As the new school year begins in Greece, political and educational leaders are emphasizing the need for stronger public education and family support to address the country's demographic challenges.

Nikos Androulakis, President of PASOK-Movement for Change, attended a ceremony at the 34th Primary School in Thessaloniki alongside Mayor Stelios Angelidis. Androulakis noted that the future of the nation depends on its children and called for cross-party cooperation to strengthen public education and the social state to combat the demographic crisis.

In Western Greece, Regional Director of Education Nikolaos Delegos visited schools in Achaia, including the Experimental Gymnasium and Lyceum of the University of Patras. Delegos highlighted the importance of physical health through sports and reaffirmed the state's commitment to special education, emphasizing the need for equal access to knowledge and supportive environments for all students.
