Greek Left Coalition spokesperson clarifies stance on PASOK

Theoni Koufonikolakou, spokesperson for the Greek Left Coalition, stated that the party does not view PASOK as a political opponent. She characterized the relationship as a beneficial programmatic competition that enriches political dialogue.

Addressing recent comments by Alexis Tsipras regarding the political landscape, Koufonikolakou explained that Tsipras's previous remarks were based on a de facto situation rather than arrogance. She noted that while there was an opportunity for PASOK to fill the opposition void during a period when SYRIZA was weakened, that gap was not utilized. Consequently, she suggested that current polling indicates the Greek Left Coalition is now the primary challenger to the New Democracy government.
