Greek military doctors to receive outstanding compensation

Military doctors serving in military hospitals and the Army Medical Fund Nursing Institution (NIMTS) are set to receive outstanding compensation. Following an intervention by the Medical Association of Athens (ISA), the Chief of the Hellenic National Defence General Staff, Lieutenant General Dimitrios Houpis, confirmed that necessary procedures have been completed.

Payments are expected to be processed through the Single Payment Authority (EAP) by the end of August 2026 at the latest. The disbursement will include retroactive amounts dating back to January 1, 2026. George Patoulis, President of ISA, emphasized the importance of timely and fair remuneration for the essential healthcare services provided by military doctors to both military personnel and citizens.
