Greek Minister Nikos Papathanasi Allocates €12 Million for Doctoral Teaching Programs in Universities

Deputy Minister of National Economy and Finance Nikos Papathanasi approved ten new measures under the ESFA Human Capital and Social Cohesion 2021‑2027 programme, earmarking €12,070,846.11 of public funds to support doctoral holders in gaining teaching experience through autonomous teaching assignments at Greek universities.

The actions target ten institutions: Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, University of Peloponnese, University of Piraeus, Agricultural University of Athens, National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (EKPA), International Hellenic University, University of Ioannina, University of West Attica, Higher School of Pedagogical and Technological Education, and Higher School of Fine Arts. For the 2026‑27 academic year, additional universities such as University of Patras, Democritus University of Thrace, Panteion University and several others have already been incorporated. The submission and evaluation process continues for the remaining institutions, and the total budget for the 2024‑25 to 2026‑27 periods is expected to reach €85 million.
