Greek Ministry of Education Sets 2026 Repeat National Exam Centers
The Greek Ministry of Education released the schedule and locations for the 2026 repeat national examinations (Epanaliptikes Panelladikes) for General Lyceum (GEL), EPAL and special/musical subjects. Two main examination centres were designated: the 5th General Lyceum Ilioupoli in Athens and the 2nd General Lyceum Neapoli in Thessaloniki. Candidates are assigned to a centre based on the regional education directorate that received their application – applicants from Attica, Crete, the Aegean islands, the Peloponnese, Western Greece, Central Greece and the Ionian Islands will sit in Athens, while those from Epirus, Thessaly, Western, Central and Eastern Macedonia‑Thrace will sit in Thessaloniki.
Students with disabilities or special educational needs will take the exams at the 9th Gymnasium Ilion (Athens) for general subjects and at the 50th Gymnasium Athens for special subjects. The GEL exam programme runs from 8 September to 11 September 2026, covering Greek language, Ancient Greek, Mathematics, Biology, Latin, Chemistry, Informatics, History, Physics and Economics, each starting at 16:00 with a three‑hour duration. Special subjects begin on 12 September and continue through 18 September, with foreign language exams lasting three hours and design subjects lasting six hours.
