Greek Ministry of Foreign Affairs demands justice for Nader Tannous murder in Syria

The Greek Ministry of Foreign Affairs has called for an immediate investigation and justice following the killing of Nader Boulos Tannous, a Swedish-Syrian Orthodox man, in Homs, Syria.

Tannous, 46, was shot by unidentified gunmen on the evening of August 15 while returning home from work in the Karam al-Loz neighborhood. Reports indicate the attackers fled the scene on a motorcycle. Tannous, who had recently returned to Syria from Sweden to rebuild his life and open a business, sustained multiple gunshot wounds to the shoulder, side, and chest.

The Greek Ministry of Foreign Affairs strongly condemned the killing, noting the symbolic timing of the incident on the Feast of the Dormition of the Mother of God. The Ministry emphasized the need for targeted and effective measures to protect all communities within Syria and expressed condolences to the victim's family and friends.
