Greek Ministry of Interior approves 694 municipal hires

The Greek Ministry of Interior gave approval for a total of 694 new jobs across local government bodies. The first decision covers 255 temporary hires under private‑law contracts for fee‑based municipal services, with contracts lasting up to eight months. The second decision adds 439 positions, including 360 additional temporary staff and 79 project‑lease contracts that may run up to a year. All approvals were signed by Vice Minister Vivi Charalambogianni and are intended to meet functional needs of municipalities and other local authorities, ensuring continued service delivery to citizens.

The hires are distributed among numerous municipalities and regional units throughout Greece, ranging from Athens suburbs to the islands, and are governed by articles 38‑42 of Law 4765/2021.
