Greek MP Sokratis Famellos questions government over refinery profits and fuel pricing

Ioannis Amanatidis was sworn in as a new member of the Hellenic Parliament. In the same parliamentary session, Syriza MP Sokratis Famellos accused the government of leaking personal data of voters and criticised its handling of fuel‑price regulation. Famellos lodged a formal question to the prime minister demanding explanations for the excess profits recorded by the country's two refineries and calling for tighter market oversight, lower indirect fuel taxes and a transparent pricing system. He also highlighted the government's recent amendments to fuel‑tax rates and the need for stronger competition oversight.

The Syriza parliamentary group announced an accelerated preparation for upcoming elections, and two senior members, including former party president Sokratis Famellos, submitted their resignations from party leadership positions.
