Greek municipalities launch community sports and creative learning programs

Municipalities in Greece have announced the commencement of various community programs for the 2026–2027 period.

The Municipality of Lavreotiki has launched its ‘Sports for All’ initiatives, targeting children, adolescents, adults, and seniors. The programs include muscle strengthening sessions at the Neapoli Indoor Gymnasium and various Pilates classes in Lavrio and Keratea. Additionally, preparatory programs for candidates seeking admission to Military Academies and Physical Education departments are now available.

In Athens, the Municipality of Athens, through the Organization of Culture, Sports and Youth (OPANDA), has opened registrations for Creative Learning Programs. Starting October 1, 2026, these programs will be held across 11 centers in various neighborhoods, including Exarcheia, Kypseli, and Tavros. Activities encompass visual arts, crafts, theater, music, and movement, offered either free of charge or at a minimal cost.
