Greek municipalities sign 3.84 million euro social services deal

The municipalities of Tripoli, Gortynia, Megalopolis, and Oichalia have signed a contract to strengthen social services through the ‘Social Services Network’ project. Funded by the Just Transition Program, the initiative has a total budget of 3,844,000 euros.

The project aims to provide a comprehensive network of social services to at least 800 beneficiaries across the four regions, with the potential to reach more. Services are designed for vulnerable groups, including the unemployed, people with disabilities, families facing social difficulties, and those requiring health or psychosocial care.

Specialized personnel, such as social workers, psychologists, nurses, and speech therapists, will provide personalized support. The program will integrate with existing municipal structures, using Community Centers as primary entry points to identify needs and refer citizens to free services. Priority will be given to women, children, the elderly, and individuals with disabilities.
