Greek mutual fund market tops 32.9 billion euros in assets

The Greek mutual fund sector recorded total assets of €32.9 billion as of 30 June 2026, up €26.8 billion since 2018 and the highest level in the past 22 years. The market grew 9.9 % over the previous quarter and 12 % since the start of 2026, driven by savers shifting from low‑yield deposits to mutual funds, especially equity funds which posted the strongest returns last year.

Net inflows to mutual funds in the first half of 2026 reached €2.045 billion, contributing to a total of €52.95 billion in assets under management across institutional managers. The asset composition at the end of H1 2026 was 62 % OSEKA (collective investment schemes in securities), 26 % asset‑management firms, 10 % AEEAP and 2 % other entities. Over the last decade the sector’s assets have risen from €6.54 billion in July 2016 to €33.12 billion, a 406 % increase, reflecting a broader shift toward professionally managed, diversified investment solutions.
