Greek National Basketball Team Sets EuroBasket Roster with Giannis Antetokounmpo and Guard Decisions

The Greek men's national basketball team has begun its preparation countdown ahead of its first training camp on 12 August. Coach Kostas Sloukas is expected to announce the initial squad soon, with a focus on securing the participation of NBA star Giannis Antetokounmpo, whose insurance costs must be covered by the Hellenic Basketball Federation.

Key guard selections are under discussion, notably the choice between Tyler Dorsey and Thomas Walkup. Veteran guard Kostas Sloukas will not be part of the roster. Other players mentioned as likely candidates include Nikos Mitioglou, Kostas Papanikolaou, Dimitris Moraitis, Vasilis Toliopoulos, Panagiotis Kalaitzakis, Thanasis Antetokounmpo and Kostas Antetokounmpo, while Nikos Rogkavopoulos and Georgios Papagiannis appear to be out of the plans.
