Greek National Track Cycling Championship Opens in Chania

The first day of the Greek National Track Cycling Championship was held at the Chania Velodrome, marking the start of a four‑day competition. Athletes from the Dodecanese islands stood out, securing top places across several categories including elite men's individual pursuit, junior women's individual pursuit and team events. New national champions were named in the elite men’s individual pursuit – Martinos Moutsios, Ioannis Panegyrakis and Timotheos Sifounios – as well as in women's and junior divisions.

The programme also featured sprint races and team sprint events with participation from leading cycling clubs across Greece. Organisers praised the smooth execution of the opening day and highlighted the strong performances of the Dodecanese cyclists as a highlight of the championship.
