Greek Naval Chamber and Ports Union Sign Cooperation Memorandum
On 22 July 2026 the Naval Chamber of Greece (NEE) and the Union of Greek Ports (ELIME) signed a memorandum of cooperation in Piraeus. The ceremony was attended by the presidents of both organisations – George Alexandratos of the Naval Chamber and Panagiotis Anastasopoulos of the Ports Union – along with senior officials from each body.
The agreement is intended to deepen the historic interdependence of Greek ports and the shipping fleet, foster innovation and competitiveness, and promote sustainable development of the maritime sector. President Alexandratos said, “We will work together to create new prospects for shipping, the Greek ports and the national economy.” President Anastasopoulos added, “This memorandum marks the start of a strategic partnership that will enhance the connection of Greek ports with the shipping community.” Both parties pledged joint actions to translate the memorandum into tangible results for Greece’s maritime industry and broader economy.
