Greek officials visit schools in Serres and Lefkada
Greek officials visited various schools to mark the beginning of the new academic year. In Serres, Deputy Foreign Minister Tasos Chatzivasileiou met with students, parents, and educators to offer well wishes for the upcoming term.
During his visit, Chatzivasileiou addressed the status of the Serres swimming pool project. He noted that the facility was included in strategic investments via a government decision, with an initial construction budget of €5.5 million. He stated that his efforts helped save the project, which eventually led to a final study costing €25 million.
In Lefkada, Deputy Minister of Rural Development and Food Thanasis Kavvadas visited local primary, middle, and high schools. He encouraged students to value their education and friendships, while specifically wishing success to those preparing for national exams.
Kavvadas also highlighted infrastructure improvements in Lefkada made through the ‘Marietta Giannoukou’ program. He noted that several schools, including the 2nd Primary School and the 2nd Experimental High School, were renovated in the previous year, with further interventions completed this year.
