Greek opposition MPs condemn government’s handling of constitutional reform and maritime licensing

PASOK MP Giorgos Nikitidis attacked the New Democracy government, accusing it of "drugging" the constitutional amendment process and turning it into partisan maneuvering. He argued that major institutional changes require broad political and social consensus, citing the need to address artificial intelligence, climate change, water scarcity, housing and demographic issues. Nikitidis also criticised the withdrawal of a proposal separating ministers from parliamentarians and warned that the government's approach undermines the separation of powers.

Agricultural Development Deputy Minister and Lefkada MP Thanasēs Kavadas replied to Minister Georgios Soldatos, stating he does not assign blame to the Lefkada Port Authority for the delay in licensing the Nydrio Tourist Boat Shelter. Kavadas said his visit aimed to gather information and facilitate cooperation among state bodies to resolve the licensing bottleneck, emphasizing his intention to help rather than engage in conflict.
