Greek Orthodox commemorates Saint Stephen and Metropolitan Cyril

On Monday 15 June 2026 the Holy Metropolis of Corinth honoured the memory of Saint Stephen, a companion of the Apostle Paul. The celebrant priest led the Divine Liturgy, during which Deacon Dionysios was ordained to the rank of archpriest. Local officials, including the mayor of Corinth, attended the service.

The day before, 14 June 2026, a multi‑archiereial Divine Liturgy was held at the Cathedral of Holy Light in Ierapetra to mark the name‑day of Metropolitan Kyrillos of Ierapytna and Sitia. Archbishop Eugenios of Crete and numerous metropolitans and abbots participated, emphasizing the unity of the Church.

Both ceremonies reflect the Greek Orthodox Church’s tradition of celebrating saints and senior clergy with elaborate liturgical gatherings.
